Firestopping
Firestopping is essential in new building construction to limit the spread of fire and smoke during fire-related emergencies and is often required by IBC, IFC, NFPA, and/or regional building codes. New buildings that fail final inspections due to improper or non-existent firestopping risk delays in being allowed to be opened to the public and costly firestop remediation. Additionally, depending on the building and industry that it falls under, the consequences of failing to comply with firestopping requirements can be severe, especially if a fire-related emergency occurs and proper firestopping is not in place.
Barrier Technologies specializes in installing firestopping systems in new and existing construction environments including perimeter fire containment, fire and/or smoke through penetrations, perimeter slab edge installations, and the installation of structured cable penetrations to alleviate future through-wall penetrations, and more. Barrier Technologies' highly skilled and certified technicians follow tested and listed systems to correct fire-wall penetrations according to all code requirements.
